Open "Main HD:Users:username:desktop:testvid. I guess the script can be adjusted to allow for this by quitting Quciktime player first that lets you make a screensaver your desktop though. I do know how to make it your desktop though. when the video starts playing it deactivates the screensaver so after the preset time of inactivity the screensaver will activate again and open the *second copy* of the video. for playing movies as a screensaver however your gonna need to rip the movie from the dvd first. also, i just realized that this will still lead to a problem. and the video does not stop playing unless you quit it by hand. if you want to change the video you need to modify the script. The Major update that Catalina was really disrupted the ecosystem of custom screensavers within the Mac OS ecosystem. And out of curiosity why is it such an 'ugly' solution? OK, the problem was with the Quick Player X, QT 7 worked fine. also, you'll have to quit QT player manually when this is over. this will not work if you have the option to require password on wake from sleep and screensaver set. this will immediately quit the screensaver, open that file in quicktime player in full screen mode and set it to loop. then when screensaver starts it will run this script. Save the script and set scriptsaver to open it on screensaver activation. Put the correct path to the movie file in question in the above. Open System Preferences from the Apple menu and go to Desktop & Screensaver if you haven’t already done so through the installation process, then go to Screensaver and locate SaveHollywood from the left side. So I just downloaded the SaveHollywood screensaver thing to display the supercut of all the Marvel movies when it switches to the screen saver. To be honest, I don't mind if it's ugly as long as it works! SaveHollywood shows no videos on macOS 11.1.
